There is always a need of Wi-Fi connection in an office and wireless router plays a significant role in establishing a perfect connection in your office. Linksys wireless router helps you in establishing a business network without using cables or rearranging offices. However, you should be aware if you don’t create a security on your router, your wireless network remains open to everyone within router’s wireless range.

In order to keep away an unauthorized access, you need to secure your network and make it private using encryption. There is another way to secure your network if you don’t broadcast the SSID network name, where a user needs to enter a username and password in order to access this network.

Today, we are going to describe the essential steps to create a security on your Wi-Fi wireless router and you can also take help from Linksys Router support team.

Steps to follow:

Turn on your PC and open your web browser and enter 192.168.1.1 in its address bar and then login to administrative utility. You need to enter the username and password that is “admin”.

There you find a “Wireless” tab at the top of your screen and next click on “Wireless Security Tab”.

Now go to “Manual” radio button and then select “WPA2 Personal” from the security mode in its rundown list and some Linksys routers call this “PSK2”.

It will ask you to enter a long, complex passphrase in its “Passphrase” field; you just need to use letters, numbers, and symbols. Your passphrase should be 8 to 63 characters long and then click “Save” settings.

Now go to “Basic Wireless Settings” tab and next you have to click “Disabled” radio button that is just next to “SSID Broadcast” and click “OK” in the appeared dialog box.

Once you are done with these steps click on “Save Settings”.
