Open your web browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the Address bar. A new window will open asking username and password.
If you have not changed the username and password earlier then leave the username field empty and type “Admin” as the password.
On the home page, click on the Internet Setup option, click the drop-down arrow and select Internet Connection Type and then select Automatic Configuration-DHCP.
Change the value of the third box in the IP Address field. Make sure that Subnet Mask should be 255.255.255.0.
Save the settings and then close the setup page.
On your computer, open the command prompt then type “ipconfig/release” and then press ENTER. Now, type “ipconfig/renew” and press ENTER again to refresh the computer’s IP Address.
For accessing the router web-based setup page use new IP Address 192.168.2.1.
Now connect your modem to the internet port of the router by Ethernet cable.
